Monotony has set in your life and you want to give your self a 'break'. Not as a vacation for a week or dialing in sick at your work place for a day or two, but to take it as a break literally. Moving out of your current role and giving that pink slip a thumbs up can be an experience itself.
Juggling between what feeds your stomach and what feeds your heart can be a troublesome task, but it is one of the core decisions to prove the essence of being alive.
We often hear that we are all born with a purpose in this LIFE. Finding the purpose that feeds both your heart and stomach will ensure that 50% of the job is already complete which involves, taking some very critical decisions considering situations ,experience, luck, money and people. All these factors can influence decisions, while you take the big leap.
Some people make the switch with no baggage of the past and some like to continue to hold on to the pain, as it is found that it helps them to grow. As always, here are couple of examples of people with whom I had interacted:
Year 2011, Azim Khan, a Graduate Trainee, joined a reputed IT firm in Bangalore and started having the time of his life- new place, new friends, work and weekend clubbing. Everything was awesome until one fine day he realized, his happiness was caused by everything but his work, in which he spent most of his time. So, before his performance went down the chart, he knew he had to figure out his parallel interests to keep him going (monetarily as well).
He quickly found out that his interest lay in facing the lime light, being part of the glam world, being a Model and there was no turning back. 4 yrs into the Modelling industry and big names like Amazon / Flipkart / snapdeal behind him, You definitely have to applaud to believe in himself, who took the call, proved the pessimists wrong and made the leap.
Next up in the list is the story about a 6ft and an inch tall Punjabi munda, Navchetan Rai who traveled abroad for a project requirement on a long term basis. Little did he know, that the solace which mentally challenged his patience, endurance and tolerance also nurtured his hobby of creating music. A passion that turned his tables from being just another Software Engineer to a Electronic Music producer cum DJ ... NavOrNaver (his artist alias).
On digging for more information from him, I understood the intent of this talented music composer. "My musical influences can be traced right back to the times in college. I wanted to be understood yet never be part of any language. I wanted to be a language for every human emotion that can be captured."
"Being alone for sometime during my stay in Malaysia,I started introspecting on this hunger to communicate and express emotions in an organised, yet frolic chaos. Dancing, jumping with people around was addictive, yet there was this feeling I wanted to convey, which was beyond words. NavorNaver was born this day. "
"Music was my hunger, to capture multiple emotions of human life including happiness / sorrow / anger and other emotions which have no words to explain but only to be felt. Once captured, I would then let these emotions flow with time, touching our different senses as they flow, caressing the listener during its journey."
"According to me music can have any tempo, melody or chord progression but what matters in the end is The communication, so do it now cos its Now or Never "
Last but not the least is a story about a very versatile person Sharad Shiromani, who is good at dancing, great at singing and simply magnificent at clicking pictures. But before all this could happen to this 6-pack rugged looking hunk, he was an innocent IT employee who dint care much about his life. 'Live life as it drifts you' was the mantra. Having drifted beyond his own limits, he knew there was a fire within to be explored, a fire which lit the outside world with his presence.
"Earning money was always the agenda, but Yes, only through ways that satisfies your soul. I had this liking towards a DSLR camera and capturing beautiful images through it. I had got so involved with this hobby of mine that it almost became my reason of existence. Be it a get together with friends or a dazzling fashion event, you would find me with my love(DSLR)."
"Off late, I've been travelling to locations for my shoots and I am just dumb founded by the beauty of mother earth. I m always at a loss for words, so the next best thing to do is let my pictures do the talking." he shared.
Seeing his pictures on his Facebook page, I can now relate to his words. Living life via some one else's pair of Eyes is just fascinating.
As for me I see a connection in all of the above. They all have been through times, which demanded them to be mentally prepared; times which are very personal to them. This is probably where you find your "Calling", screaming & tearing things apart and coming right for you.

So have you recognized your Call ?
