Saz on the Beach

There is something about a Sundowner at a beach restaurant, the slow yet a steady decrease in the maximum temperature, with cool wind blowing across your face, as you find your self mesmerized by the view of crashing waves, all along your favorite spirit and of course , good progressive music forms the backdrop.

For once, this definitely seemed to be one of the same experiences I ve had at a Sundowner beach party, (something I certainly crave for again). The usual crowd pouring-in with glasses in their hand and laughter on their face, some even extending themselves to wear all white attire to show the world, they they are part of the "gang".. well what ever be the case, such happy moments are worth cherishing.

Back to focus, this moment, as I was enjoying the view of beach on a roof-top restaurant, I got called by my "gang" to walk down to the beach. I hesitated at first, not wanting to leave the vibe at the restaurant and mainly because I did not have my beach wear on me, so wouldn't enter the sea water. After a little persuasion, I gave in. With a glass in one hand & phone in the other, few of us stepped onto the beach, heading towards the seashore, gazing in awe at the endless horizon.

As we reached the sea-shore after a good five minutes of walk, I couldn't help but smile as the sea waves touched the footsteps and cool sea breeze embracing me. It is moment of exhilaration which cannot be best described in words but can only be experienced at that very moment. Being slightly buzzed altogether elevates your happiness. As I stood there enjoying the endless horizon and waiting for the sun to set at the top of golden hour, I couldn't help but notice that something/someone grabbed my attention, a little further into the sea away from sea shore, a lady in bright yellow top & blue bottoms, amidst the gray-black sandy beaches was having the time of her life in the sea water, she and couple of her friends relishing the constantly crashing waves. The freedom, to not be a prison of earth's-gravity, but to keep floating in water is yet another mind blowing experience.

There were many people on the beach front and inside the water, but it would be hard to explain what got my attention onto her, yet something did. As I continued to enjoy the Golden hour, this bright yellow top lady (I am emphasizing the color as it stood out among the gray-black sandy beach sand), decides to walk back to the sea shore, probably deciding to enjoy the sun-set in some drier clothes.

As she walked back, I noticed I was very well in her path, there was this magnetic attraction, between my body and earth, that wouldn't let me move, she slowly walked a few degrees away from me, to almost walk diagonally towards her bag, probably the dry clothes and her stuff were kept. As I saw her walking past me, I knew she was special, being a strong believer of vibes, this moment clicked something, I immediately gulped the last sip and decided to engage in a conversation.

Sometimes its too easy to talk to someone and sometimes it takes a lot to muster the courage to say the first few words. It was the latter in this case, but definitely the moment, the sun almost about to set, the rest of world at the beach getting to ready to hit back the dry land. Now or Never as they say.

Went right across to her, this exact moment when I was just one hand distance away from her, It was evidently clear, she was naturally very beautiful, the sun rays reflecting from the droplets of water on her cheeks. I couldn't decide what was more beautiful at that moment, was it the well crafted eyebrows, or her black/brown solid eyes, which can speak a thousand words or was it the subtle smile with dimple on her cheeks. She was a flawless in her looks, not sure about her hair, but I guess even the sandy black beach sand couldn't do much damage to the perfect package.

Fortunately for me, she initiated the conversation, maybe she sensed the vibe, we exchanged a few words, about the weather, about her gang, I kept glancing back between the setting sun and her. I wouldn't want to be caught continuously looking her smile and not miss the sunset too. (Zakir Khan wanted the clouds in the flight, it was the sunset for me).
Her smile was constant, Happy person inside feels, I knew it at this point, she was well more than her looks, the vibes were not wrong, she had an amazing aura around her.
The conversation continued and the sun was almost about to set, it was almost about time to leave, not knowing when we would bump into each other ever again, I quickly asked her to exchange numbers and she smilingly obliged, God, those dimples on her cheek I tell ya !

Number exchanged, goodbye's were shared, we stepped away to enjoy the sun set in its full glory, a moment of happiness, to have the done the right thing at the right moment.
If I could quote, Robert Frost, "Two roads diverged in a yellow wood" & I took the one with the brighter yellow shade. ;)
Cheers !
