Yes indeed , the time period from “Can I..?” to “I want.” is a journey in itself and let me tell you , It has been one of the best journeys I ve ever travelled.
Watta time its been then .. where we could hear ppl always talking politely in every conversation .. “Please“/ “may I” / “Shall we” were very common … But today these words are learnt from “How to speak...” books.
It is very common to hear phrases like “Dad, I m going out will be back by 10” rather than “Dad , My frnds ve planned a get-together and I m planning to join them, Will it be fine , If I’m back by 10..?”
I might sound cribbing about this generation’s conversation ways, but I m a part of it and I support it whole heartedly..
Of course telling people of what you are going to do rather than asking them whether its fine or is right thing to do, is a sign of self confidence and Today we all fight to show tht we are confident, who wants to stay behind in the rat race anyways...
The only problem with the “I Want” group is that they take things for granted whereas
The “Can I” group always waits for its decision to be taken by others and are never successful because the “I want” group loves taking risks hence they take over the opportunity which the “Can I” group had in hand but was waiting for the go ahead from “others”.
No matter which group we belong to , One thing is for sure, trusting our instincts for the right stuff and feeling of satisfaction when the task is over will be the group which everybody will want to join..
Sounds like future prediction ..
From “Can I..” then “I want..” to “Whatever happens.. I m doing it”
